Walking the Length of the Jurassic Coastline to Raise Awareness
We were contacted recently by Jenny Acheson who, along with her 3 year old son Xander, will be walking the length of the Jurassic coastline, from Exmouth to Bournemouth, to raise funds for the Alzheimers Society from the 8th - 21st August.
Sadly Jenny's grandmother - Gangan to the family and Jenny's closest friend - passed away from dementia on Thursday 9th July this year. Despite her hurt, Jenny wants something positive to come from their loss which is why she and 3 year old Xander will be walking approx 125 miles over 11 days, raising awareness about dementia and fundraising for the Alzheimers Society at the same time.
Funds raised would go to support such services as the community Dementia-Advisers, both on the road and via the phone and the online Dementia Directory, which allows those living with dementia to search for services in their area based on their postcode.
For more information on Jenny's story or to make a donation, you can visit her JustGiving page here.
We would like to wish Jenny and Xander every luck with their adventure and hope to hear from them again with an update, once its all over.
