Thursday 21st November 6 - 8pm
Its time to get in the festive spirit this week as Salisbury's Christmas lights are being turned on, with the annual Christmas Lights switch on between 6 & 8pm on Thursday 21st, in Market Place, Salisbury.
And this year, the person chosen to switch on the lights is local Encircles charity trustee Molly Fisher. Encircles is a Salisbury based charity working to alleviate poverty, loneliness, homelessness and isolation. Salisbury City Council gave people the opportunity to nominate a deserving person or group felt to have made a positive difference to their community to switch on the lights, Molly was picked for her hard work at Encircles.
There will be free shuttle buses running from 4.30pm at the park and ride locations, leaving every 30 minutes until 6pm, when they will then run every 15 minutes.
Return journeys will operate every 15 minutes from 7.30pm until 9pm.
The event will include live music, fire works and of course the main man himself Father Christmas.
There will be a road closure in place for the event, affecting bus services which normally pick up from Blue Boar Row, please click here for further info.
