Support for Families During Lock Down
Regular listeners may remember Home-Start Kennet's Jo and Caz visited the station back in December 2019 to talk about the Organisations various schemes, which has a network of trained volunteers and expert support for families with young children at the times when they need it most.
Lockdown has bought fresh challenges to many families and though they are currently unable to offer face to face contact, the organisation is still working tirelessly to support families at this time.
The heart of the organisation is the Home-Visiting Service which allows families to get individualised support in their homes for up to 2 hours a week. You can find more information on the service here HomeStartKennet Information.
Unfortunately, due to lockdown, this free service is currently paused, however new referrals are still being welcomed with support being given over the phone rather than face to face in the home. They are hopeful of being able to resume this service in the very near future so keep an eye on their website and Facebook page for updates.
Home-Start Kennet also runs The Tidworth Family Group, another free service, for families with children under 5 which, under normal circumstances, takes place every Thursday at the NSPCC Childrens Centre in Drummer Lane, Tidworth.
Lockdown restrictions mean that the group can only run virtually at the current time but new members are very welcome, an initial call just needs to be made on the contact details below, to book a space;

Kelly will be joined on the phone by Claire from Home-Start Kennet during a HumpDay Hooray show in August, so keep an eye on our Facebook page for more news on that coming soon.
