A Tidworth man has been ordered to pay more than £10,000 in compensation after pleading guilty to 14 counts of criminal damage.

Callum Bailey, 21, of Sweetapple Close, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court on June 24.

In the early hours of April 24, Bailey caused damage to 12 vehicles parked in Sweetapple Close, one in Elyes Road and another on North East Drive by scratching and gouging the body work of the cars.

His reckless actions were captured on multiple CCTV cameras in the area.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "Residents in the area woke the following morning to find damage worth hundreds of pounds to their vehicles.

"This was completely unacceptable behaviour which caused upset and inconvenience to multiple residents.

"I am pleased that Bailey has been put before the courts and will face the consequences of his actions."

In total, Bailey was ordered to pay a total of £10,434 in compensation to the victims, which was the combined estimated value of the damage caused. He received no other penalty.
